libnetcdff5 software package provides Interface for scientific data access to large binary data, you can install in your Ubuntu 14.04 LTS (Trusty Tahr) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install libnetcdff5
libnetcdff5 is installed in your system.
Make ensure the libnetcdff5 package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep libnetcdff5 *
You will get with libnetcdff5 package name, version, architecture and description in a table
